Purpose: At Varuna Ship Repair and Drydocking Services Inc., we are fully committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, visitors, and the environment. Scope: This policy applies to all operations at Varuna’s shipyards and repair sites in Tuzla and Yalova, covering all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Main Guidelines:

ISO Compliance: Adhere to the highest international standards for health, safety, and environmental management, specifically ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).

Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation: Continuously identify and assess workplace hazards. Implement risk control measures to eliminate or minimize risks to employees, contractors, and visitors.

Training and Awareness: Regularly provide comprehensive training for all employees and contractors on health and safety practices, emergency response, and environmental awareness to ensure compliance and readiness.

Sustainable Practices: Promote environmentally responsible practices to reduce the impact of our operations. This includes reducing waste, energy consumption, and emissions, as well as the responsible management of hazardous materials.

Emergency Preparedness: Establish clear and effective emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring that employees and contractors are well-equipped to handle any incident efficiently.

Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Regularly review and monitor HSE performance. Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to continuously improve health, safety, and environmental standards.

Incident Reporting: Ensure that all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions are reported, investigated, and addressed promptly. Learn from incidents to prevent future occurrences.

Environmental Responsibility: Implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of operations, including pollution prevention, resource conservation, and compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
